EFS Personnel Evaluations

EFS PERSONNEL EVALUATIONS:

SUPERINTENDENT/PRINCIPAL, TEACHERS, SUPPORT STAFF

As part of the federal requirements for states’ receiving funding under Phase 2 of the State Fiscal Stabilization Funds Program, all school districts in New Jersey are providing information to the public on the procedures they use to evaluate teachers and principals.  The information presented below will help you understand Essex Fells’ policies and procedures for evaluating teachers, educational specialists, principals, and vice-principals.

Confidentiality concerns: To protect the confidentiality of individual evaluations, districts are not required to provide a district-level statistical summary of teacher evaluation outcomes in those cases where there are fewer than 10 teachers or principals in an entire district.  Similarly, districts are not required to provide a school-level statistical summary of teacher or principal evaluation outcomes if there are fewer than 10 teachers or principals in a school.

Evaluation of EFS Instructional Staff includes an assessment tool for teachers that measure Planning and Preparation, Student/Teacher Interaction, Instructional Strategies, Classroom Management, Evaluation Techniques, Professional Growth, and District Responsibilities.

Evaluation of EFS Support Staff includes an assessment tool that measures Attitude, Judgment, Relationships with students/staff/parents/administration, Acceptance of Suggestions, Handling of Situations, Knowledge, Skills, Pro-activity, Follow-through, and Safety.
