• 3rd Grade STEAM

    Welcome to STEAM!!

SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ART & MATH

The students are learning about arrays in math class.  This STEAM lesson helped the students better understand the vocabulary associated with arrays by taking a 2-dimensional concept and exploring it in a 3-dimensional way. The 3rd grade created their own roads to success, which is our school theme for the year, by drawing a roadway surrounded by images that will make them a successful person.  Once the students created their arrays using Starburst candy, they designed a cobblestone pattern on the roadways.

Take a look at the results.

  • Pumpkin Catapults

The 3rd graders worked in teams of two to create pumpkin catapults in STEAM class to explore the science of forces and motion.

  • We are working on forces and motion in STEAM class.  They were instructed to create a parachute that successfully carried a figure slowly to the floor.
